One picture you dont want to miss — i call it “drying, pota-style”
Today was big tree time in Sequoia NP.
General Sherman standing tall as tree with the most volume. Looking good at approx. 2200 years (!!), old man.
One quite remarkable encounter was a young brown bear (according to our resident soon-to-be biologist, who had us corrected upon our return, it was actually a black bear -go figure-) about 5 meters from the trail, who was quite unimpressed by our presence.
As of tomorrow we will be officially entering the last week of our trip. Sad part, it will be time for our second goodbye … Doc Ewok is leaving us tomorrow when we drop him of at fresno air terminal on our way to Yosemite NP; not sure if we will have wifi, so don’t expect updates, but rather be surprised if there are.
Hopefully he can leave his trustworthy companion behind that he had by his side for the last three weeks …. the grand caravan. I am sure he will keep us updated on his last burger of the day, day after tomorrow, when he gets on his way back to good old austria.
