Vacation Memories

… we end as we started, 21 days ago. Now waiting at the airport for our flight back.  Over, and out.

… it is cleaning, dumping and refilling time, before we successfully dropped off our RV back in anchorage today, after 2607 miles of adventure. Then we spent the rest of the day doing that .. resting (in propper beds, first time in a while) and strolling around Anchorage once again…. and a bit shopping. Tomorrow…

Today was our last day and some went cruising the glaciers and some went, well, fishing of all things.  ​​ But also other things seen were quite impressive. 

… was a bit cloudy this morning, so we went to the Alaska Sealife Center … and then for some live-Sealife, before we paid Exit Glacier a brief visit under blue sky and sunshine ☀️ ​​ ​​

What we did not account for was, that Kenai is a popular weekend spot for Anchorage … and guess what, it’s Friday, so Seward is booked.  But against all odds we did manage to sweep up the last spot at Stoney Creek Campground, and it is not bad at all.  Time for evening relaxation now…

… for the last time we are on a longer drive, this time from Denali to Kenai.  On the way we stopped in Talkeetna … … where i did indeed managed to find that store again, where i went to purchase a replacement toothbrush 15-odd years ago on my first (long weekend) trip to alaska.…

Nice two days of hiking in kluane np. Far away from all the modern stuff, like internet, electricity and running water 😉 Dinner in style, meat on the open fire in the middle of nowhere canada.  First hike was a 15km loop on the Auriol Trail and a couple of shorter ones on day two.…
