… kind of. Since fairbanks, not unexpectedly, is more of a base camp than a tourist town, and the morning remained to be drizzly, we did a quick walk about downtown and then decided to check out a wildlife resort.

But besides a few brave birds that did not mind the wet weather, they were water birds afterall, there was no wildlife to be seen …

… well, not seen but felt … stinging … a million and one mosquitos attacked us, obviously expecting a feast from those dumb tourists walking around … US.
After aborting that mission in favour of our blood supply, we made our way to a soaking evening at the hot springs.

A nice 106F (42C) natural spring fed lake/pool was our soaking spot … awesome!

Looking “behind the scenes”, yet again, shows that “middle of nowhere alaska” has different standards …

… improvising seems quite common, even when putting electricity around a pool inlet. Somewhat concerning, but it is only 110V, so who cares :p
A comfort food dinner and another soak, before the day was over … those “sun ’til midnight” says are indeed quite handy.

Next stop: Denali National Park marking the beginning of our final week in Alaska!
